Report: Broncos have requested to interview Rams quarterback’s coach Zac Taylor

An interesting interview here.

NFL: Los Angeles Rams-Minicamp Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Denver Broncos have requested permission to interview Los Angeles Rams quarterback’s coach Zac Taylor.

Taylor is a popular and trendy candidate right now. He is the Quaterback’s coach under Rams Head Coach Sean McVay and helped develop Jared Goff into the quarterback he is today.

Now, teams are looking to cash in on the “next McVay” and could be looking for him on his own coaching staff. Taylor is also 35 years old so he fits the young/potentially innovative role teams are looking for.

Now this is just pure speculation on my part, but I think the Broncos could be looking at him as a potential Offensive Coordinator option for them. The jump from QB’s coach to Head Coach is a big one and a very very very risky one at that. So I feel like they are doing what they did with Vance Joseph the first time around and have him interview for a Coordinator job while interviewing potential Head Coaching guys.

I did just write that all signs point to Gary Kubiak being the OC and still feel confident with that take, but the Taylor request is very interesting.

So what do you think Broncos Country? Do you think Taylor is ready to be a Head Coach? Or do you think this interview is more for a coordinator job?
