During practice on Wednesday, Denver Broncos star wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders went down with a non-contact injury clutching his ankle. Multiple sources are now confirming that Sanders has torn his Achilles and is done for the year.
Sanders, 31, was having a great season with 71 receptions for 868 yards and four touchdowns with four games still left on the year.
In his place, the Broncos will have to continue to rely on its rookie class with Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton filling the void left behind by Sanders. The injury blows are beginning to pile up for a team trying to fight its way into the playoffs.
For Sanders, this injury will be will a tough one to return from, but all of Broncos Country will be wishing him a quick and speedy recovery.
And the bad news will extend to next year. Surgery and not only this season done but unlikely to be ready for start of 2019. Could be back for later part of next season. https://t.co/BXGAWae4MU
