How do the football gods weigh in on Broncos injuries?

It's always a sad time when veteran players get hurt. But the way this has happened looks like the work of the football gods. I'm a big believer that sportsmanship matters. Respect for teammates, opponents and the game are really important. I'm also a big believer in karma in sports. When you look around at the Broncos who have gotten hurt, it's hard not to wonder.

Brandon Marshall may try to deflect the importance of his disrespectful behavior when kneeling during the presentation of the colors and singing of our national anthem but doing that during a televised sporting event is unacceptable and inappropriate. Professional football is entertainment. All NFL players have a job to do. Turning the game into a political statement is plain wrong. I'm glad Marshall has kept his job unlike Kaepernick but he is probably tainted goods all the same.

Chris Harris Jr. has a big mouth. And it runs without many filters. Everyone is game for his acid tongue. But when he throws his teammates under the bus he’s going to pay. On Sunday the football gods collected.

Emmanuel Sanders loves to taunt opponents. Disrespecting cornerbacks and safeties when the rules are already so one-sided to the offense’s favor is ridiculous. There is nothing good that comes from taunting an opponent. Even if the ref doesn’t throw the flag it still gets the guys in the other jerseys all fired up. There is at least one Sanders taunting episode that cost a game. Just score the touchdown and hand the ball to the ref. That’s the cool way to play. In fact, it is probably more intimidating than putting on a big show. When a player makes it look easy, opponents get worried. If you do return to the NFL, this is a habit you should lose, Emmanuel.

This is one of the reasons I hope Phillip Lindsay loses the taunting behavior. The football gods may come and collect from him too. If you are a superior player show it on the field and with your behavior.
