Tim Patrick doesn’t have to dig too deep for his motivation.
That’s especially true for the Denver Broncos receiver this Sunday versus the San Francisco 49ers. Patrick not only will see his playing time increase, and with it his chance to make plays, he’ll get to do it against the team who waived him last season.
As he told Ryan Edwards, Andrew Mason and Steve Atwater on Friday’s 1st & 10 @ 10 on Orange and Blue 760, “When you get cut by somebody, it digs deep. Of course I want to show them what they’re missing out on, but my job is to do whatever I gotta do to help my team win.”
Patrick could get that expanded role because of the injury to Emmanuel Sanders. Patrick currently sits at four receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown. For the Broncos (6-6) to stay in the AFC playoff picture and keep their winning streak alive, Patrick will have to take advantage of his opportunity and help the offense chug along.
He won’t have to dig too deep to find his motivation.
