Game Preview
The Denver Broncos (6-6) come into this game against the San Francisco 49ers (2-10) having finally put together several confidence-building wins after a tough 3-6 start to the season. The AFC playoff picture is pretty muddled and uncertain for a slew of .500 teams, but the Broncos favorable schedule moving forward gives them a good chance to make some waves.
Those waves can only continue if they keep winning. After losing both Emmanuel Sanders and Chris Harris Jr. to injury, it will be on the ‘next man up’ to make it happen.
Over the last three weeks, we have seen a true identity begin to take shape in Denver with a strong rushing attack and an opportunistic defense spearheading the teams three game win streak.
“I think you’re different each week,” Head Coach Vance Joseph said of the team’s identity. “Obviously our defense here has played well the last three or four weeks. In this league, you have to score points to win so that won’t change. Hopefully we can play well again on defense and score some points on Sunday. That’s the key to winning.”
The 49ers are a dangerous two-win team and any pretense that this is an easy win should be forgotten immediately. Denver must take advantage of this favorable schedule by proving to itself it can win these games.
Here is how to watch.

Odds
The Broncos opened as favorites over the 49ers and the line had increased to as much as 6-points earlier in the week as oddsmakers and the general public begin to realize that Denver might just be a pretty good football team. The line now stands at 3.5-points in favor of Denver, so things have pulled back quite a bit since Tuesday.
Matchup History
Aside from very unfortunate Super Bowl game, the Broncos have actually played the 49ers very well historically. They are 7-6 all-time against San Francisco and 3-4 on the road.
The last time the Broncos faced the 49ers in the regular season turned out to be a very special moment as Demaryius Thomas would catch a touchdown from Peyton Manning to help the G.O.A.T. set the all-time mark for most touchdown passes in a career.
MHR Radio
In this weeks’ podcast, Ian and Adam hope see the Broncos strike gold against the 49ers for their fourth-consecutive win.
Broncos & Bratwurst doesn’t see the face of a franchise in rookie Phillip Lindsay, but who is the face of this franchise?
MHR is becoming podcast central as Laurie, Jess, and myself have teamed up for a little Broncos covering on the lighter side with Something, Something Broncos.
