Broncos need to trade up in the 2018 NFL Draft for Baker Mayfield

Good Morning Broncos Country!

NCAA Football: Rose Bowl-Oklahoma vs Georgia Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

On Monday, the Buffalo Bills made a trade with the Cincinnati Bengals that could lead to another major trade down the road.

They sent veteran offensive tackle Cordy Glenn and one their first-round picks(pick 21) to the Bengals for the 12th overall pick. They also swapped some mid-rounders, but the big news here is Buffalo now has the 12th and 22nd overall picks. It’s no secret that they want to move up in the draft for a quarterback and now they just made it a bit easier.

Now with the Bills in striking range, Arizona at 15, Miami at 11, and the New York Jets at 6, the Broncos are facing multiple teams trying to move up ahead of them. The Browns are taking Sam Darnold with the first pick(Barkley rumors are bunk) and the Giants may or may not take a quarterback at two. That leaves the 2nd(potentially) the 3rd and 4th up for grabs. The Broncos need to waste no time and trade up with the Colts and ensure they can get the best remaining quarterback prospect.

My personal choice would be Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield. I would also accept UCLA’s Josh Rosen.

It might be costly, but the price isn’t an issue when you’re getting your quarterback of the future. General Manager John Elway and the Broncos need to make this move sooner rather than later.
