With the 2018 NFL Draft just under two weeks away, one thing is clear:
Nobody knows who Denver Broncos will select at #5... or if they’ll even pick at #5.
Will they trade up? Will they trade down? There will likely be some jockeying among the top of the draft order as teams maneuver around to get in the best possible position to pick their guy. The Broncos could be among them. What could the Patriots be up to with those two first round picks? Do the Browns want to parlay their #4 into additional picks next year?
Until that big clock in Dallas starts counting down and cell phones begin to ring, not even John Elway can predict what’s going to happen. Which quarterback will fall to Denver? Could Denver go for the guard, Nelson? Running back, Barkley? I can tell you this for sure. Despite thousands of mock drafts with trades and without trades, something will happen between now and when the Broncos make their first round selection that will make all the draft pundits admit, “I did NOT see that coming.”
...but that’s okay. It’s the speculation and prognostication that makes the draft fun. I’m just ready for it to get here. Even though I have no idea what the Denver Broncos are going to do.
