The Denver Broncos biggest problem on the field in 2017 came from the decisions made by whatever quarterback they threw out there to try and generate some offense. John Elway and the Broncos front office have decided that Case Keenum will be exactly the kind of player to right that ship in 2018.
And Von Miller agrees. Keenum has done nothing but impress the best player on the Broncos roster and they are even locker mates this season.
“It’s only been four hours,” Miller said of Keenum. “He’s a great leader. You can just tell by being around guys and by having conversations with guys. In 30 seconds, you can kind of tell what he’s going to bring. He’s going to be a great quarterback for us. He’s going to be a great leader. His locker is right across from mine, right where DeMarcus [Ware] used to be.
“I envision a whole bunch of magical moments between me and Case, holding hands and dancing around the locker room (laughing). It will be great. I’m a great guy in the locker room. He’ll be a great guy. All we have to do now is get the wins.”
Keenum took it all in stride and is quite excited to be a part of the same locker room as Von Miller.
“I’m always down for some shenanigans (laughing),” Keenum said. “I’m excited to get to know Von. Just the reputation that he has obviously. I’m excited. Locker rooms are always fun.”
So the next time the Broncos win a big game, just picture the two of them dancing it up in ways only Von Miller can do.
It’s all fun and light-hearted right now in April, but Von’s mentality goes beyond just having fun. In fact, his light-hearted comments ended with a very important caveat: “All we have to do now is get the wins.”
