The 2018 Denver Broncos regular season schedule has been announced. Their last place 5-11 record last season didn’t move the needle much as they will face quite a few tough home contests. Overall, however, their schedule is rather favorable with most of their toughest games coming at Mile High.

Opening against the Seattle Seahawks is a good thing. The Broncos have been dominant in their home openers, winning 17 of their last 18 openers. Plus the Seahawks are known for their slow starts. I love the prime time AFC West division games. Playing in Oakland on Monday Night Football and hosting the Kansas City Chiefs are both going to be fun games to watch.

Overall, the schedule looks fairly favorable to Denver. The toughest stretch might be right after the Bye, but really I don’t see any brutal stretches of games. Of course, we will not really know what is brutal until we see which teams are actually going to be good in 2018.

The NFL schedule is formulaic in that we already knew the Broncos opponents months ago. The only wild card heading into the final week of the season is the two opponents the Broncos would face based on their final standings in their division. From there, the NFL runs through thousands of schedule possibilities to find the right mix of high-powered prime time games and matchup intrigue late in the season.

The Denver Broncos have a favorable strength of schedule heading into the 2018 regular season, which is to be expected considering their 5-11 record last season.
