Denver Broncos mock draft database

Josh Rosen leads the pack for the Denver Broncos fifth pick out of the 46 mock drafts used in this database.

The Denver Broncos are picking fifth in 2018 and that should be excited. It is never fun to watch your team lose enough games to be picking that high, but it is April now and 2017 feels like a long time ago.

SB Nation put together a fantastic NFL mock draft database comprised of 46 of the most accurate mock drafters out there. Last year, only two picks in the first round were to teams that not a single mock draft predicted, so there is a good chance one of the players listed below is going to be drafted by the Broncos.

If you absolutely hate all of the quarterbacks on the list, our Detroit Lions sister blog Pride of Detroit compiled a mock draft database of a 1,000 mocks and the Broncos ended up with Quenton Nelson. As good as Nelson is, however, there are not that many first round guards who lead their teams to championships. Alternatively, Nelson is the only “can’t miss” prospect on the list here.

Ahead of the Broncos on this mock draft database is Sam Darnold as the first pick, Saquan Barkley as the second pick, Josh Rosen as the third pick, and Bradley Chubb as the fourth pick. Frankly, I do not see how the Broncos could pass up on Baker Mayfield in that situation.

Even so, if the New York Giants do not trade back or take a quarterback then the Broncos will likely have their pick between Mayfield, Rosen, and Josh Allen with the fifth pick. That would make picking Nelson a very risky and bold move by John Elway.
