It was widely reported prior to the start of the 2018 NFL Draft that the Broncos choices at 5 would be quarterbacks Baker Mayfield or Sam Darnold, or defensive end Bradley Chubb. If neither of the three was there, they would trade back with the quarterback-needy Buffalo Bills.
Well, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bills and Broncos had a trade finalized depending on the players available. Well, Chubb was available and the Broncos sent the pick in.
Buffalo and Denver had agreed to a trade based on who was available; but Broncos decided not to pass up Bradley Chubb, then Bills went to No. 7 instead. For Josh Allen.

It is unclear what Buffalo was offering, but the Bills did end up sending the 12th overall and two second-rounders to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 7th overall pick. The Bills did not want to give up their second first-round pick or any 2019 picks in any trade.
In the end, the Broncos got their guy and the Bills got their guy(Quarterback Josh Allen). Now let's see what do the Broncos do from here on out.
