In the third-round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos have selected Oregon running back, Royce Freeman.

Freeman is a 6’0”, 229lb running back from Oregon. He played four seasons at Oregon and put some solid numbers. During that four-year span, Freeman totaled 5,621 yards and 60 touchdowns. He also averaged 5.9 yards per carry and caught 79 passes for 814 yards, and 4 touchdowns.

The Broncos released veteran running back C.J. Anderson last week and needed another power back in their stable to compliment Devontae Booker and De’Angelo Henderson. I think he will be the Broncos red zone/short yardage back who could take over the position if he plays well.

I really like this pick and glad the Broncos didn’t wait long to address the running back position. So far, I am really liking John Elway’s draft. Hope he continues it later tonight with their second third-round pick at the end of the round.
