During an interview on Evans and Stink of 104.3 The Fan, Bucky Brooks of NFL.com talked about the Denver Broncos and focused heavily on their 2018 NFL Draft class. When it came to running back Royce Freeman, Brooks made a comparison to the Kansas City Chiefs breakout rookie from last season in Kareem Hunt.

“I do believe there’s a chance that Royce Freeman could be that guy that does some of the Kareem Hunt type things”, Bucky said.

The type of things Brooks was talking about has to do with elusiveness and Freeman’s ability to break tackles in space.

The hype around Freeman is definitely gaining some steam and this time it’s not just from Broncos fans and Broncos local media. Brooks is a national guy who knows football better than most. For him to say these things should be exciting for all of us.

As for Freeman, he maintains focused on the task at hand and that task being competing for playing time.

“I feel like I just wanted to come in and compete,” Freeman said of OTA’s. “Show the coaches that I have that competitive nature. I feel like I could bring that to the team and help many ways. No matter what they wanted me to do, I was ready to do it.”

Do you think Freeman is going to live up to this early hype from Bucky Brooks and others?
