Today we continue our roster review series by focusing on an important member of our offensive line — guard Ronald Leary. He is one of the most talented players on the Broncos offense and will be a major key to the team’s success on that side of the ball this season. Let’s take a deeper look at what he can provide the franchise for the upcoming 2018 campaign.
Name: Ronald Leary
Position: Guard
Height: 6’3”
Weight: 320
Age: 29
Experience: 7th Season
College: Memphis
The Good
Pretty much everything that Leary does as an NFL offensive guard is above average if not superb. He’s a great run blocker and is damned hard to move when pass blocking. He’s one of the bright spots on the offensive line from the 2017 season and honestly while healthy — Lear was undoubtedly one of the NFL’s best.
Leary is a veteran presence that is going to be key to the Broncos offensive line performance in 2018. In all likelihood we’ll see Leary move back to his original position at left guard which will help up and coming left tackle Garett Bolles develop.

The Bad
The biggest issue with Leary is his injury history. He’s had issues with his knee dating back to his collegiate years, as well as back issues that lingered in his 2016 season — he was put on injured reserve in 2017. If he’s able to stay healthy all season, the Broncos offense is going to likely have a strong showing.
2018 Status
Leary is a starting guard for this team and if healthy is the kind of player who could put together an All-Pro year. If the Broncos line is going to continue to improve, Leary is going to be a big part of that. Look for him to get plenty of rest on the way to the season as the training team makes sure he’s right for the first game of the season against the Seattle Seahawks.
