According to 9NEWS Denver’s Mike Klis, veteran defensive tackle Clinton McDonald will take a physical on Tuesday and is expected to be cleared for the start of Training Camp.
Broncos DT Clinton McDonald had been out with bacteria infection stemming from 2015 shoulder surgery. Had procedure in New York to drain infection. He was cleared by Dr Altcheck. Will take Broncos physical tomorrow. “Im good to go,” he said. #9sports

As Klis notes above, McDonald has been dealing with an infection in his shoulder since last season but recently had that drained by Dr. Altcheck. McDonald was cleared by his doctor and is now expected to pass his physical on Tuesday with the Broncos.
McDonald has been an overlooked addition to the Broncos defense this offseason but he is expected to add depth to Broncos interior pass-rushing unit. Last season for Tampa Bay, McDonald totaled 5 sacks for the Buccaneers while dealing with a bum shoulder. McDonald who is entering his ninth season in the NFL has totaled 240 tackles, 19 sacks, 6 pass deflections, and 2 interceptions throughout his career.
I believe McDonald will battle for playing time against 2017 second-round pick, defensive end DeMarcus Walker who is looking to have a bounce-back sophomore season. I believe he will crack the Broncos 53-man roster as an interior pass rushing specialist for the Broncos defense.
However, for now, it is good that McDonald is healthy and will be good for the start of Training Camp after missing a good portion of the offseason workouts/practices.
