The offensive side of the ball, especially in the passing game, is all about chemistry in timing and anticipation. Under the current CBA rules, it would be challenging at best for a quarterback to come in and develop the kind of chemistry with his new receivers needed to start the season fast, so any extra time with them should be helpful.
Of course, it didn’t really help out Mark Sanchez all that much in 2016, but Keenum is a better quarterback talent playing at the apex of his career in the NFL. We’ll just have to see if the Denver Broncos offense has some teeth to it this season with Keenum under center.
