You often see this from undrafted rookies as they head into their first NFL Training Camp facing long odds. Only 53 players from the current 90-man roster will make the team and after that, only 10 players make the Practice Squad, so there isn’t a ton of room for some of these players.
It sounds like Williams is looking at these odds and knowing he is likely just Training Camp depth and deciding if he wants to continue his NFL career or head in another direction.
Williams played a total of five seasons at East Carolina University before going undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft. During his career at East Carolina, Williams totaled 109 receptions for 1,589 yards and 12 touchdowns.
If he decides to hang it up, the Broncos will be lacking some wide receiver depth as they prepare for their first Training Camp practice. Henderson and Williams are both on the did not report list and Jordan Taylor is expected to start camp on the PUP. That leaves Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Courtland Sutton, DaeSean Hamilton, Isaiah McKenzie, Kenny Bell, John Diarse, River Cracraft, Tim Patrick, and Jordan Leslie as the Broncos wide receivers heading into camp.
