The Denver Broncos are back.

In around 12 hours the 2018 edition will step on the field for the first time. There have been a lot of changes to the roster and coaching staff since the last time the Broncos were on the field. Will those additions and subtractions makes any difference? We’ll get our first eye test on Saturday morning for the first practice of training camp.

Friday’s edition of 1st & 10 @ 10 on Orange and Blue 760 with Ryan Edwards, Steve Atwater and Andrew Mason wanted to test the expectation level for the season, so they asked a simple question. How many wins will the Broncos have this season? Yes, we’re about to see our first practice, but this is a great way to kickoff the season. Each of the three had a different answer, and Atwater was the most optimistic (he says 13 wins).

As I told the guys a few weeks ago, the Broncos’ base is eight wins. That means Case Keenum is worth, at least, three wins over last season, though I think Keenum will add two more to that total. That means Denver will finish 10-6 and compete for the AFC West title and the wildcard.

For now, it’s great to be able to talk about football again and have excitement about the season. The Broncos are back!
