The Denver Broncos wrapped up the second day of training camp on Sunday and it has been all about that new and improved offense so far. The shells come on today, however, and when the two-hand touch portion of training camp ends is usually when the defense starts showing its teeth.
Head coach Vance Joseph was looking for a little hurry-up on offense during 11-on-11’s on Sunday, which helped the offense get some tempo going.
“What you want on the second day is you don’t want guys to come out and not go fast,” Joseph said. “So my point there was to come out, go no-huddle and push the pace of practice early, just to get guys going after that first day of being a little sore. It worked. It was good for us and guys came out and played fast today for us.”
It would figure that Joseph will once again ramp up to this kind of tempo later this week once the pads come on Tuesday. It will be interesting to see if the offense continues to have those big, breakaway plays they had this weekend.
For now, here’s your live updates for Day 3 of Broncos camp.
