Chad Kelly has officially moved up the depth chart at quarterback for the Denver Broncos while Paxton Lynch slid down to the third-string spot.

Broncos fans were going nuts in the stands. The talk after the first preseason game was all about just how terrible Paxton Lynch was on the field and how good Kelly looked.
It didn’t take long for a change to happen as the Broncos are trying to change their ways after a disappointing 5-11 record last season.
Paxton has disappointed in every way
When the Broncos drafted Lynch, I was solidly all aboard the “He’s going to take 2-3 years to develop” train. This is year 3 ladies and gentlemen. This “QB” looks in his 3rd year about as competent as he did in his first.
I’m excited as a fan to see the team hold him accountable to the product he has chosen to put on the field. No excuses. You don’t get to point fingers at coaching, offense changes, or anything else. The guy still looks lost out there and isn’t processing fast enough for the NFL game.
Chad Kelly is battling like a pro
On the other hand you have a young guy that has spent a year on injured reserve. He’s fighting to play the game of NFL football at a professional level. He’s looks like a guy who is working hard, trying to figure out what the defense is doing, and looking to make a throw downfield every play that is a designed pass regardless of the pressure in his face.
This is the kind of play that should be encouraged, rewarded, and applauded by the fans, players, and coaches. I’m stoked to see Kelly have an opportunity to solidify himself as our backup QB for 2018.
