Report: Carlos Henderson to be suspended for violating league substance abuse policy

Denver Broncos second-year wide receiver Carlos Henderson will be suspended for a game for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

After failing to report to the Denver Broncos training camp practices a few weeks ago, Ryan O’Halloran of The Denver Post is reporting that Carlos Henderson is going to be suspended for Week 1 for violating the league substance abuse policy.

Back in January, it was reported that Henderson was arrested for possession of marijuana and this suspension could be related.

The Broncos likely knew this was coming, but left the door open temporarily for Henderson to report to the team and go through training camp.

“It’s strictly on Carlos if he wants to continue to play football, if he wants to come back to camp and compete,” Head Coach Vance Joseph said in July. “That’s strictly personal with Carlos.”

The window was likely a short one and Henderson has long since past that point. He seems content with letting his NFL career fade into the night.
