Another day and Denver still has not brought in a veteran quarterback — imagine a national media source making something up that local media must then address for the next few months. Speaking of local media, it has been at least six months since Vic Lombardi made his annual suggestion that the Broncos would pursue A.J. McCarron, it's been five months since nearly the entirety of Mile High Report's staff suggested that Kirk Cousins would be the next quarterback in Denver and four months since that same staff thought Baker Mayfield would be available when the Broncos drafted fifth overall in the NFL draft this season. It's been two months since Brandon Stokley suggested that the Broncos trade Von Miller, It's only been six days since John Elway said that there was no switch in Paxton Lynch's status as a backup quarterback and it has been one day since Bill Musgrave said, “I think all three QBs we’ve had this spring ... they’ve all been putting in the hours and the work. I’m really pleased with the work ethic from that room.” Leave him in the wilderness with a sworn nemesis. He'll make it. We also know several players that will not be available for Friday's game. The list includes safety Su'a Cravens, tight end Troy Fumagalli and cornerback Marcus Rios as well as guard J.J. Dielman, tackle Andreas Knappe and center Sam Jones.
