Mile High Sports’ Les Shapiro spoke with Broncos fullback Andy Janovich after practice today and he told him that he will not be suiting up for Thursday Night’s preseason finale against the Arizona Cardinals. This is noteworthy because starters usually do not play in the preseason finale and very likely means Janovich has made the team.
Just finished interviewing @broncos FB Andy Janovich. He tells me he's not suiting up for the final preseason game. Guess that means he has the team made. After those two TD-springing blocks vs @redskins, not all that surprising. Now Q is, how many RBs do they keep. #broncos

There was some question about Jano’s status in Bill Musgraves offense this past offseason, but it appears he has a role(Which really shouldn’t be a surprise). Keep in mind, Janovich’s play on special teams is a big reason why he is making this team.
Now with that said, Jano is a pretty damn good lead blocker. MHR’s Tim Lynch highlighted Janovich’s blocking prowess against Washington where he helped spring two touchdowns.
As Shapiro states, the big question remaining in the backfield is how many running backs do the Broncos keep and who they keep?
There was a report earlier today which stated that teams are already expressing interest in second-year running back De’Angelo Henderson who is on the roster bubble. Rookie Dave Williams is also on this bubble while fellow rookies Royce Freeman, Phillip Lindsay, and veteran Devontae Booker are locked into a roster spot.
It will be interesting to see how this all plays out but we at least know that fullback Andy Janovich isn’t going anywhere in 2018.
