Jerrol Garcia-Williams was carted off the practice field on Tuesday with an apparent knee injury that Mike Klis of 9News later reported to be a torn ACL. He will have season-ending surgery and will be sent to injured reserve.
Garcia-Williams, 24, joined the Denver Broncos has an undrafted free agent out of Hawaii in 2017. He started the season their practice squad, but played in the final 11 games as a special teamer.
He signed his exclusive-rights tender in April and figured to compete for one of the final 53-man roster spots to continue contributing on special teams.
Garcia-Williams is the third player the Broncos have lost to a season-ending injury. They waived/injured linebacker Deiontrez Mount who tore his Achilles in OTA’s and they placed safety Jamal Carter on injured reserve after a torn hamstring. Mount cleared waivers and was added to the Broncos injured reserve.
