Bovada came out with their odds on who will in the 2018 NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award and they chose to make J.J. Watt the clear favorite despite him missing nearly two full seasons.
They also pegged Joey Bosa, Aaron Donald, and Khalil Mack as favorites over Von Miller.
Let’s take stock of all four players ahead of Miller. Watt hasn’t played a full season in two years. Bosa just left the practice field with an injured foot, and both Donald and Mack are holding out of camp. How ready will those last two guys be come Week 1?
Frankly, if I were a betting man (I’m not), I’d be placing my wager on Miller all day long.
2018 NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award Odds
- J.J. Watt 5/1
- Joey Bosa 11/2
- Aaron Donald 11/2
- Khalil Mack 11/2
- Von Miller 9/1
- Jalen Ramsey 14/1
- Luke Kuechley 22/1
- Cameron Jordan 22/1
- DeMarcus Lawrence 22/1
- Chandler Jones 30/1
- Calais Campbell 33/1
- Fletcher Cox 33/1
- Myles Garrett 33/1
- Harrison Smith 33/1
- Bobby Wagner 35/1
- Tyrann Mathieu 40/1
- Xavier Rhodes 40/1
- Bradley Chubb 50/1
Or if you are feeling lucky, go with those 50/1 odds with Chubb. I’m joking, there is no way Chubb takes this award. He could be in play for the Defensive Rookie of the Year award though.
