According to head coach Vance Joseph, the starting offense and defense for the Denver Broncos will play only two series max in the preseason opener against the Minnesota Vikings.
“The first team will get two series max,” Joseph said. “Obviously, things happen on game day, but two series max. After that, we’ll go with our twos hopefully through the first half until probably the middle of the third quarter. We’ll give our threes probably a chance to play third quarter to fourth. It’s going to be some guys that mix in with the twos and mix in with the threes. It’s a fluid thing.”
The after that is right. There has been heavy competition at every level, so for many of us the game will really matter once the first team is on the bench.
Broncos first team offense and defense will get two series max on Saturday vs the Vikings. Von Miller will play. There was a thought maybe he wouldn’t. Not because of anything other than he’s Von Miller and probably wouldn’t have to.

The storylines in this game are pretty good for a preseason matchup. Case Keenum will square off against his old team and the quarterback they replaced him with in Kirk Cousins. Meanwhile, Paxton Lynch will go head to head with Trevor Siemian. And finally, Kyle Sloter will get a chance to take down Chad Kelly. It’s literally game of replacement revenge!
Game time is at 7:00 p.m. Mile High time this Saturday, August 11, 2018. You can catch the game live on NFL Network or locally on KTVD Channel 20.
