The Broncos part ways with their other third round pick from the 2017 NFL Draft.

According to 9NEWS Denver’s Mike Klis, the Denver Broncos have waived 2017 third round pick, cornerback, Brendan Langley.

This move looked likely after the Broncos added veteran cornerback Adam “Pac Man” Jones to the mix. That made Langley the sixth corner and with his development lacking it put him on the outside looking in.

The 2017 third-round pick was drafted as a developmental corner who possessed the size, strength, and athleticism you look for. However, he has only been playing cornerback for a few years. He was transitioning from wide receiver to cornerback. This made Langley a boom/bust developmental prospect.

In the end, Langley never developed like they hoped and they drafted Isaac Yiadom in the third-round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He quickly passed Langley on the depth chart and the addition of Jones bumped him off.

He has practice squad eligibility and could land there. I am not sure another team claims Langley considering how bad he looked while with the Broncos. We will find out tomorrow how that shakes out.

Update - 9/2/18

On Sunday, the Broncos moved to bring Langley back onto the roster via their 10-man practice squad. He’ll get a chance to continue developing his skills at cornerback.
