Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens injury report: Case Keenum returns to practice

Here is your Thursday injury report for the Broncos and the Ravens.

NFL: Oakland Raiders at Denver Broncos Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

After sitting out Wednesday’s practice with some minor knee soreness, the Broncos starting quarterback, Case Keenum returned to practice for the Broncos today. This was expected, but whenever your starting quarterback returns to practice, it is noteworthy.

The other good news here is that starting right tackle Jared Veldheer appears to be progressing through to the concussion protocol. He didn’t practice today but was seen on the field with a helmet on and observing. This shows he’s close and probably will be cleared to play by Sunday’s game. Veldheer has been a nice addition to the Broncos offensive line which has been playing very well so him being out there will definitely be a plus.

Unfortunately, we have some bad news on the injury front. Cornerback Adam Jones(thigh) and linebacker Brandon Marshall(knee) did not practice for a second straight day. If they miss Friday’s practice, both veterans would be in danger of missing Sunday’s game. Veteran Tramaine Brock would replace Jones while rookie Josey Jewell would replace Marshall in the lineup if they cannot go.

Safety Dymonte Thomas was added to the injury today with an abdomen injury that left him limited in today’s practice. Nose tackle Domata Peko missed practiced but no need to be alarmed, it was just a veteran day off for Peko and his hair.

As for the Ravens, they received some good news today. Linebacker C.J. Mosley returned to the practice field one week after being off the field. He was limited and it is unclear if he will be able to go on Sunday, but this obviously a good sign for them. Running back Alex Collins also returned to practice for the Ravens after sitting out Wednesday because of an illness.

As for the bad news for the Ravens, defensive lineman Michael Pierce missed a second straight practice with a foot injury. His absence would be a big loss for the Baltimore front seven. Defensive lineman Willie Henry also missed his second straight practice with an abdomen injury.
