The Denver Broncos released their first injury report of the 2018 season today. Thankfully for them, the team enters week one of the regular season looking fairly healthy.

The Broncos only have two players not fully participating in today’s practice, but neither injury is considered serious. Rookie reserve guard/center Sam Jones is dealing with a low back injury while reserve pass rusher Shane Ray will be dealing with his wrist issue all season.

Head Coach Vance Joseph called the roster “pretty clean” as the Broncos head into week one of the regular season.

“We’re pretty clean, so we’re lucky. Week 1, that’s your hope—to be pretty clean.”

As for the Seahawks, they aren’t as lucky as the Broncos. They have two players sitting out today’s practice due to injury as well as two other players listed as limited. The two players who sat out were guard D.J. Fluker and linebacker, K.J. Wright. The two limited players were tackle Germain Ifedi and defensive end Dion Jordan.

The big news surrounding the Seahawks today was the return of All-Pro safety, Earl Thomas. He sat out the Seahawks entire offseason program, Training Camp, and Preseason but reported to the Seahawks today.

Head Coach Vance Joseph said the return of Thomas does not affect their game plan for Sunday’s game.

“It doesn’t. Obviously, when you’re studying their defense, you’re studying the defense, not one player. They’re an aggressive single-high defense, and the guy who played for Earl, 33 [S Tedric] Thompson, he’s been playing really well. So, he’s a great player. It makes them better.”

However, will a guy who has stayed away from the team since their regular season finale in 2017 play week one with just a handful of practices under his belt? The Seahawks said “we’ll see” but I am skeptical.

We will likely find out more about Thomas’s status later in the week.
