The defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles will host the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1 action in a rematch of last season’s NFC Divisional Round when the Eagles outlasted the Falcons 15-10 on their way to an NFL title.
The Falcons were the only team that found a way to slow Nick Foles and that Eagles offense down as the Eagles would score 38 and 41 in their next two games to route the Minnesota Vikings and hold off the New England Patriots. That should give them a bit of confidence that they can, in fact, hang with this team.
With Carson Wentz still not ready to return from injury, it will be Nick Foles in this game. The Falcons will want to put the pressure on early and often while getting their own running game going. If they can do that, they might have a chance in this one.
