FanPulse: Broncos Country feeling confident heading into Week 1

Hey Broncos Country! Our first week of polling is in the books and the results show a very optimistic fan base heading into Week 1 of the regular season. Our survey asked a few other questions as well, so here’s a break down of what you all think.

Will the Broncos win or lose in Week 1?

Broncos fans think they will beat the Seahawks by 7

The Broncos are actually favored at home over the Seahawks by three points, but Vegas failed to acknowledge Denver’s 85% home win rate in the first two weeks of a season dating back to the merge. Which also includes a 19-1 run since 2001.

As optimistic as fans can be, this might be a more accurate line than what Vegas has right now.

What is the worst NFL rule?

Sadly, the new helmet rule leads the list here. We’re all for better safety, but if the rule is confusing and inconsistent it is going to be something that just pisses us all off during the season. Especially if it results in a game changing play that screws the Denver Broncos out of a win.

How confident are you in the direction of the team?

Very confident: 36 percent
Somewhat confident: 57 percent
Meh: 3 percent
Not very confident: 3 percent
Not confident at all: 1 percent

I voted somewhat confident, because its hard to be very confident after a 5-11 season heading into the first week of the following season. Ask me again in Week 4 when the Broncos are 3-0 and I’ll be jumping that ship into the very confident category.

There are plenty of reasons for Broncos fans to be at least somewhat confident in this team right now. They upgraded the worst quarterback situation in the NFL to something that resembles competence in Case Keenum and already have a stable of running backs that look like they could set the league on fire this season.
