The last two seasons in Denver have been rough. Poor play and poor coaching was personified by a nervous man patrolling the sidelines who constantly looked as though he was terrified the scoreboard would fall on him at any second. That era is no over.
Enter Vic Fangio.
The defensive mastermind with a long record of success wherever he’s gone now gets to wear the headset in Denver. To a man, every former player that has spoken out has had nothing but positive things to say. His reputation as a no-nonsense football person will only serve him well as he takes the reigns of Denver’s formerly great defense.
Can we also get excited about the return of Gary Kubiak? Gone is the trash offense of the Bill Musgrave era and here comes the Denver offense we know and love. Bootlegs, moving pockets, and dare we say it? The naked bootleg. We can’t wait to go naked in 2019.
Without a doubt, the hiring of Fangio also seals the demise of all this silly trade Von Miller talk. No way a defensive savant comes to Denver to coach without the duo of Chubb and Von together. Man, think about that... The sack-tastic duo is going to generate all the fireworks in 2019 that we’d hoped to see in 2018. It’s going to be awesome.
Laurie, Tim, and I talk about all this and more in this week’s Something Something Broncos podcast. We have a blast producing this it and we know you’ll dig listening to it.
