The other night when Laurie, Tim, and I were recording the Something Something Broncos podcast a funny thing happened. Anecdotally, Laurie mentioned that at some point over the years, Big Ben had blocked her on Twitter. Say what?
So that got Tim and me wondering if we, too, had been blocked. Sure enough...
Hmm, I guess we pissed him off at some point. I wonder if it was the Tim Tebow or Peyton Manning era that did it... pic.twitter.com/MNp0PAggo3— MileHighReport (@MileHighReport) January 10, 2019
What could be in his past he’s so sensitive about... I mean... there has to be something... can’t quite put... ohhhh, that’s why. #nomeansno pic.twitter.com/QOXU1dWS49— Jess Place (@Jezru) January 10, 2019
When Tim tweeted out that the Mile High Report twitter account had been blocked, what happened next was surprising.

He blocked me a long time again....he didn’t like my nose means nose crack— Chris Hitchcock (@Chris_Hitchcock) January 10, 2019
On the surface, I can see why Big Ben wouldn’t be down with fans from the Mile High City. In his career, he’s 2-4 during the regular season and 1-2 in the playoffs against Denver. Under the surface, Twitter isn’t a kind place to people with not one, but at least two alleged dishonorable events in their past.
Widespread twitter blocking like this can’t be unique to just Broncos Country. With the vocal fans of the Ravens, Browns, and Bengals in division, it’s quite possible that fans Ben has blocked people well into the tens of thousands. Imagine the time commitment that takes. I’m pretty sure someone must handle that responsibility for him. Perhaps a few.
Although, I do like the idea of him sitting up late at night at the computer in some lonely corner of his house, shrouded in darkness, weeping as he blocks Broncos fans en masse... Stopping only long enough to blow his nose into a crusty and tattered Terrible Towel he keeps tucked into the waistband of his extra-small briefs... Maybe imagining him crying in his underwear at his computer is taking too far. I guess we’ll never know. He blocked me on twitter. He’s @_BigBen7. Did he block you as well?
