Before I go off the deep end in terms of sourness and disappointment, there were a few positives that came from that Thursday night horror show...
#1) Justin Simmons needs is a dawg and needs to be re-signed.
#2) Courtland Sutton is a star
#3) I didn’t watch live and only had to struggle through the 40 minutes of condensed video rather than three-plus hours of that bleepity-bleep.
I’ve already touched on many points in past articles that appeared relevant in one of the worst games in recent Denver memory. Some of the points can be summarized quickly:
#1) Joe Flacco is not a good QB, he’s not a leader and it was always a bad decision to think otherwise.
#2) Joe Flacco and a bad offensive line (Garett Bolles) is a catastrophic mistake by John Elway.
#3) There’s been a serious lack of leadership from the veterans on the team for several years and Sutton/Lindsay/Risner should take on more prominent roles because they seem to give a crap.
#4) Emmanuel Sanders needs to be traded to a team where he can have some success while he is still physically capable.
#5) Vance Joseph was NOT the ONLY problem with this team in 2017-2018.
There’s a full evaluation of this Thursday Night Football pile of poop in the podcast linked above. Warning...it’s not overly optimistic but there are a few things that we can look to with a bit of hope in the future.
The Broncos are who we thought they were and something needs to be done and quick because Denver fans will not stand by while our organization is run into the ground.
