The Denver Broncos and the Indianapolis Colts released their first injury report of the week ahead of their Sunday afternoon match up. For the Broncos, they received some good news on the injury front while potentially losing a key free agent addition for the season.
The #Broncos hope Bryce Callahan will be ready soon, but the possibility he misses the entire season is very real at this point. https://t.co/2mbryUiTcG

James has been out since injuring his knee during the week one match up against the Oakland Raiders but could be close to returning. The highly paid free agent addition put in his first full practice since then and could be on track to play against the Colts. However, Head Coach Vic Fangio cautioned that James may not be ready to play a full games worth of snaps.
“Right now with Ja’Wuan’s situation—the one thing about Ja’Wuan you have to remember he was out six weeks and because it was a knee injury, he’s not in the best of shape right now. I don’t know that it’s realistic that he can go out there and play 65, 70 plays. We’ll probably play all three of those tackles at some point.”
So his status will be one to watch moving forward this week.
As for the Broncos other free agent addition, cornerback, Bryce Callahan. We may have to wait until 2020 before we see the corner take the field as a member of the Broncos. Here is what Head Coach Vic Fangio had to say on the topic after practice when he met with reporters.
“He’s progressing. Obviously, he’s not progressing enough to where you’ll see him out here running, but it wasn’t planned to be. From the day he got it, we knew it was going to be—four to six is what we told you. It was really closer to six than four. He’s another guy, even if it does him well and he can play, the conditioning level is a factor.”
So the Broncos will have to rely on Duke Dawson and Davontae Harris to fill key roles in the Broncos secondary for the remainder of the 2019 season.
