Broncos at Chargers: Game time, TV schedule, online stream and more

The Denver Broncos (0-4) are on the road in Week 5 to take on AFC West foe Los Angeles Chargers (2-2). Here’s how to watch.

The Denver Broncos are now 0-4 for just the fourth time in franchise history and will be looking to avoid the franchise’s first 0-5 start ever on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers (2-2).

In the Something Something Broncos podcast above, Jess, Laurie, and I mostly talked about John Elway and his mismanagement of the team in the Post-Manning era. The good news is, he seems to be trying to fix those past mistakes with some good decisions starting in 2018. The question now is, how much time will he give Vic Fangio to lead the charge?

Game Preview

The Broncos, in my opinion, had the second game of the year stolen from them by a highly questionable roughing the passer call on their opponents final possession that led to the game-winning score for them.

There is no crying over spilled milk in the NFL. There is only the next game. And now, the next game is against Philip Rivers and the Chargers who have come out a bit sluggish to start the season in their own right as they dealt with a series of problematic injuries.

Rivers did take the time this week to call out the similarities between this 2019 Broncos squad and his own back in 2017 that had started 0-4 before finishing the year 9-3 as one of the hottest teams in the league.

Here’s to Rivers being right and the Broncos securing their first win of the season this week against Rivers and company.

Here is how to watch.

Odds

The Broncos were 6.5-point underdogs against the Chargers in Week 5 earlier in the week, but that line has dipped just slightly as of this writing to a six point advantage for the Chargers. The over/under also stands at 44.5.

Matchup History

This will be the 119th matchup between these two teams dating back to the beginning of the AFL in 1960. While Denver started up just 6-18-1 against the Chargers until 1972, they have been fairly dominant over them all the way up until Philip Rivers became the quarterback there. All-time the Broncos are up 65-52-1 over their AFC West rival.
