The Denver Broncos have placed cornerback De’Vante Bausby on injured reserve after a scary spinal injury that saw him lose the ability to move his extremities for a full 30 minutes before feeling and movement returned.
The Broncos are placing CB De'Vante Bausby on IR and signing CB Coty Sensabaugh, per source. Broncos worked out several cornerbacks this morning.

This doesn’t necessarily mean his season is done, but by placing him on IR it will remove all doubt that his goal is to get healthy and give his spinal cord the time to heal. There is no official timeline on this injury, so we shouldn’t be surprised if it does end up being season-ending.
The good news is - he’ll ultimately make a full recovery from this scary injury. All of Broncos Country was happy to learn he was okay.
“They said I was paralyzed for the first 30 minutes,” Bausby said on Tuesday. “I was awake the whole time. I was never unconscious, I just couldn’t move. But I was still talking and everything and the doctor said I’ll be fine and I trusted him and after 30 minutes, I was able to wiggle my toes and after a couple hours, I gained full mobility.”
While there is no timetable for his return, the Broncos have signed cornerback Coty Sensabaugh, a former 2012 fourth-round pick by the Tennessee Titans who has played for the New York Giants, Los Angeles Rams, and, most recently, the Pittsburgh Steelers where he played in 15 games and notched 45 tackles and a forced fumble.
