UPDATE: Denver shutout Tennessee 16-0 for their second-straight win.
The Tennessee Titans (2-3) are coming to Empower Field at Mile High to take on the Denver Broncos (1-4) who are fresh off their first win of the season in an impressive defensive effort against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5.
Against the Titans, the Broncos defense will need to continue their complete turnaround against the run. Just two weeks ago they gave up nearly 300 yards on the ground to the Jacksonville Jaguars, but last week it dropped to a mere 38 yards against the Chargers.
Chris Harris Jr. felt that the insertion of Mike Purcell at nose tackle and shifting Shelby Harris to defensive end is how that turnaround happened.
“Honestly, with Shelby [Harris] at the nose—my opinion I think we were a little light, coming from [Domata] Peko,” Harris said. “Peko, that’s a big boy to replace in the middle right there. He’s consistent and he’s done it 10 plus years, even longer than that. We’ve seen that. That’s something that bringing in Mike—Mike coming in, he did a great job for us and Shelby can move to the right end and he played well off that, made a lot of plays.”
The Titans have one of the leagues most dangerous rushing attacks, so these changes will certainly be put to the test in this game. If the Broncos can get to 2-4 before their Thursday Night Football game against the Kansas City Chiefs, then who knows what could happen from there.
Kickoff is set for Sunday, October 13, 2019 at 2:25 p.m. Mile High time at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado.
