The neck pain Joe Flacco was experiencing during the game last week against the Indianapolis Colts turned out to be a herniated disk in his neck. After a second opinion this week, the Denver Broncos have decided to place him on season-ending injured reserve.

Brandon Allen starts Sunday vs. Cleveland, with Denver promoting QB Brett Rypien from practice squad to back up Allen.
Flacco, 34, finished the season as one of the lowest rated quarterbacks in the league. He finished with 1822 yards, six touchdowns and five interceptions in eight games. Whether or not he’ll be back next year is something up for debate.
However, his 2019 campaign is over. Brandon Allen will get his first NFL start this week against the Cleveland Browns and it would seem the timeline for Drew Lock to get his first shot is after the Bye Week. At 2-6, now is the perfect time for John Elway and Vic Fangio to begin evaluating their young quarterbacks on the roster in live NFL action.
What are your thoughts on Joe Flacco’s time with the Broncos? Should he be brought back next year to compete for the starting job again in 2020?
Poll time!
