The Denver Broncos don’t have a successful history as a double-digit underdog.
As the Broncos (3-6) prepare for their Week 11 game at the Minnesota Vikings (7-3), they enter as 10.5-point underdogs. On the MHR Radio Podcast, Adam Malnati and I used a stat from Joe Mahoney to lead off the show. If you go back to 1980, Denver is 2-10 in any game (regular season and playoffs) where it enters as double-digit dogs. Those two wins were in Super Bowl XXXII against the Green Bay Packers and a Monday night win in 1987 over the Oakland Raiders. As I told Adam on the show, so you’re saying there’s a chance?
We also talk about the news of Drew Lock practicing on Tuesday, and whether the Broncos can overcome those steep odds against the Vikings or it’s just a step closer to the rookie quarterback? We also talk about our keys to Sunday’s game and players to watch. And before our whip around the Week 11 NFL schedule, we touch on a Woody Paige column about how Gary Kubiak should be in the Broncos Ring of Fame.
