The Denver Broncos are 3-2 in their last five games and as Laurie, Jess and I debated in the SSB podcast above, a 3-2 stretch of their next five games would put them at 6-4 since their disastrous 0-4 start.
That would be quite the welcome change of pace here. Even so, winning just two of their next give keeps them above .500 since that start. I’m kind of okay with that too given the quarterback situation and issues at the tackle position.
However, they face a pretty big test this week with the Minnesota Vikings.
Game Preview
This game is going to come down to how well Brandon Allen and the Broncos offense does. Denver will need to control the clock a lot better than they did in their win over the Cleveland Browns last week when they had the ball for just 24 and a half minutes. If they do that against the Vikings, the Broncos defense may hold the line for a while, but eventually the flood gates would open.
That simply can’t happen. The Vikings are down a lot of key starters for this game, so that is an advantage they must pounce on. If Denver can put up 24 or more points again this week, then I do feel confident the Broncos defense can keep this game close enough to make it interesting.
Here is how to watch.

Odds
The Broncos are massive 10-5-point underdogs to the Vikings in Week 11. Since the early 90s, the Broncos have never won as 10-point or higher underdogs on the road. There is a first time for everything, so maybe this is the week when Denver does something it has not done in decades.
Matchup History
These two teams have a very interesting history. They have split the series 7-7 and neither has held much of a homefield advantage against the other. Denver is 4-3 at home and Minnesota is 4-3 at home. However, in recent years, Denver has held the advantage having won the last three meetings.

Fan Sentiment
Broncos County is feeling good about the quarterback change. The win over the Browns boosted confidence in the team by 30% and the Bye Week only seemed to steel their resolve. Of course, that could all evaporate with a loss this week on the road.
