The Denver Broncos have made a roster move on Tuesday; claiming cornerback Shakial Taylor off waivers and designating cornerback Cyrus Jones as reserve/NFI list. Taylor, 23, was cut by the Indianapolis Colts.
Taylor is 5’11” and 175 pounds and has appeared in five games for the Colts this season. With the issue on defense clearly being in the secondary, Denver is trying to do whatever they can to bolster that unit heading into the final five games of the season.
Part of the issues has been teams picking on Devontae Harris here lately. When asked about how the young player is handling the setbacks, Chris Harris Jr. had encouraging words.
“You see a lot of young kids break and they just break their confidence,” CHJ said. “He still has his confidence, he still ready to go out there and challenge people and try to improve as much as possible. The kid’s hungry. He asks 1,000 questions and he’s been coming over my house a couple of time a week. We’re just trying to get better together.”
Adding Taylor will get a fresh body in the mix as Vic Fangio looks for new ways to conceal the obvious weaknesses Denver has in the defensive secondary.
