The Denver Broncos have five players who did not participate in practice on Wednesday due to injury and four others who were limited. The local media is manic about Drew Lock and the quarterback situation, so only a handful of questions were asked about where these players might be come game time.
The two notable responses came for Von Miller and Ja’Wuan James. Head Coach Vic Fangio said that Miller is progressing fine from his knee issue and should be okay, but did not allude to any game status for now. Even if he plays, I would hope they put him on a strict pitch count. As for James, he was a full participant and looks to be ready for to return yet again to the lineup in this game, which should be a huge relief for rookie Lock if he gets his first start on Sunday.
Alexander Johnson and Shelby Harris are both on the DNP list for Wednesday too, but we’ll have to wait for the quarterback mania to die down a little bit for the boots on the ground to remember that those questions about other players need to be asked too. And yes, I am finding the quarterback stuff to be a bit over-the-top this week.
For the Los Angeles Chargers, they are looking fairly healthy (went ignoring how many of their players are on IR again this year). They might be a full go for all the guys on their injury report.
