For the Broncos, they had a total of six players sit out today’s practice. Tackle Ja’Wuan James continued to sit out with a knee issue, defensive end Dre’Mont Jones has a high-ankle sprain, and guard Ron Leary continues to deal with a concussion. Linebacker Joe Jones was added because of some back stiffness while rookie wide receiver Juwann Winfree tweaked his hamstring and defensive end DeMarcus Walker twisted his ankle during Wednesday’s practice.
“The guys that are not practicing today are [G] Ron Leary, [DE] Dre’Mont [Jones], [ILB] Joe Jones—his back tightened up yesterday— [WR] Juwann Winfree—he got a slight hamstring yesterday, [DE] DeMarcus Walker twisted his ankle yesterday and [T] Ja’Wuan James is not practicing today. The rest of them are limited or full.”
The notable name here is tackle Ja’Wuan James. He continues to deal with a knee injury and is in danger of missing Sunday’s game against the Chiefs.
As for some good news, rookie play-making tight end Noah Fant returned to practice on a limited basis for the Broncos. He’s dealing with a hip and foot injury and may need to put in a full practice tomorrow to have a good chance of playing on Sunday.
