Fan confidence boosted by the win and by Drew Lock

In our weekly FanPulse Survey, we found fan confidence has surged in the Denver Broncos after their 23-20 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

Denver Broncos fan confidence has surged in Week 14, reaching its highest mark since Week 7 when they were coming off a two game winning streak. The 56% confidence mark is also a dramatic turnaround since bottoming out at 8% just a few weeks ago.

Some of that surge is from the Broncos 23-20 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, but I suspect a bit more of that is coming from how well Drew Lock played. His stats don’t show the poise and ability to play up to the moment in that game. We should all be encourage by that first game, but his growth will likely involve some growing pains. He’s not quite the franchise quarterback we all hope he is just yet.

We talked a good bit about Lock’s performance on Something Something Broncos this week. While I am fully on the bandwagon, I understand the points Jess and Laurie made about being cautiously optimistic in his first start.

On the road against the Houston Texans will be a huge early test in his career. Frankly, I expect him to fail this test. In his second start, he will be facing a strong playoff contender coming off a huge AFC win over the New England Patriots. That crowd is going to be hostile and rowdy.

The most important thing for me is how well will he bounce back throughout the game when things don’t go well and will he find some success at times to make this a game of sorts. What are your expectations from Drew Lock and the offense this week?
