Trade cannot be processed until new NFL league year begins Wednesday, March 13. Teams prohibited from commenting on deal or terms surrounding it.
Wow, where do we begin? Joe Flacco is the Broncos new starting quarterback.
The Broncos clearly wanted to move on from the short lived Case Keenum tenure in Denver and will now move on to the orchestrator of the “Mile High Miracle”. Newly hired Head Coach Vic Fangio has some experience with Flacco and now will get “his guy” to be his starting quarterback for the Broncos in 2019.
The Broncos are expected to rework Flacco’s deal so how that plays out will change the outlook of this trade greatly in my opinion. It could give the Broncos multiple opt-outs or shorten his deal, or be a total pay cut in general. We don’t know, but we know it will be re-done in some sort of fashion.
New Broncos HC Vic Fangio spent one season in Baltimore while Joe Flacco was Ravens’ QB and knows what he will be getting. Former Broncos’ exec Gary Kubiak also was a Flacco fan, and has mentioned how much he liked the soon-to-be Broncos’ quarterback. They were strong selling pts

Now, what do the Broncos do with 2018 starting quarterback Case Keenum? Trade him? Keep him to be the backup? or eat the dead money and release him? That is the next big question for the Broncos to answer moving forward
Next, is does this keep them in the quarterback market in the 2019 NFL Draft? I think so. However, it does give them some flexibility at the 10th overall pick. They can stay put and see if Lock falls to them or take the “BPA” at 10 and get a quarterback later in the draft.
A lot is happening at once right now, but one thing we do know, Joe Flacco is the Broncos new starting quarterback in 2019.
