Emmanuel Sanders tweets out “My contract reads one last ride. Coach said it’s happening! Let’s make it a great one”

Sounds like Sanders is expecting to be back in 2019.

Broncos Head Coach Vic Fangio was asked about his veteran wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders during the coaches presser at the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine and he said he hopes he has a major roles for them this upcoming season.

“Hopefully it’ll be a major role for us. Emmanuel’s a hell of a player, been a highly productive receiver in the league for a long time. He was having an excellent year last year with the Broncos. We expect him to be back full speed.”

Well, Sanders must have seen or heard these comments and tweeted out a statement saying that “My contract reads one last ride. Coach said it’s happening! Let’s make it a great one”

This is all coming off the whole Sanders saying he will not restructure his contract response tweet and the follow up report from Tom Pelissero that the Broncos plan to pick up Sanders option keeping him with the Broncos.

Some doubt crept up again yesterday after reports came out that the Broncos were looking for another deep threat/burner option at wide receiver. Many assumed this was an indicator that the Broncos may move on from their veteran deep threat despite these prior reports. Now this morning we had Fangio’s comments which just continued this roller-coaster of reports.

The Broncos must decide whether or not to pick-up Sanders option by March 12th. That is two days before the start of free agency so we will likely continue to find out more about this in the coming days and weeks ahead.

Right now, it sounds like Sanders will be back but this roller-coaster could continue and the narrative may change in the coming days. The offseason is in full swing and you never know what is up General Manager John Elway’s sleeve.
