Sage Rosenfels is intrigued by what the Broncos will do with Joe Flacco at quarterback

Despite liking Joe Flacco with the Denver Broncos, former NFL quarterback Sage Rosenfels thinks they still have a lot of holes to fill.

Former NFL quarterback, Sage Rosenfels, was on First and 10 at 10 on Orange & Blue 760 on Wednesday to talk Denver Broncos with Ryan Edwards, Andrew Mason, and Steve Atwater.

The main topic of discussion was the quarterback situation. Rosenfels is very intrigued by the trade for Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco that will become official in mid-March. Flacco thrived under the Shanny/Kubiak style of offense and that means something to Rosenfels who is on the outside looking in.

He made several good points about fit, but noted that the Broncos still have plenty of holes to fill on both sides of the ball. He felt they lived on that defense a little too long and the time has come for them to figure out how to bring balance back, so both sides of the ball are functional units during games.

It was a surprisingly good interview. Maybe some former quarterbacks are good at evaluating other quarterbacks. John Elway is certainly overdue for hitting on one of his quarterback picks in the post-Peyton Manning era.
