As the Denver Broncos head into free agency, their top positions of need are cornerback, safety, inside linebacker, and both offensive and defensive lines. With $40 million in cap space, they have some room to make a few splashes this year.
There are a lot of free agents each year, but Denver Vs put out an excellent spreadsheet of the Top 200 Free Agents in 2019. There were some big surprises on that list, that should generate some debate in the comments section. I’ve gone through the entire thing and worked up my own list of top free agents for each position - mostly taking into account the areas where I disagreed with the list Denver Vs created.
Top free agents by position 2019
Of all the free agents listed, the guy highest on my list for the Broncos would have to be Bryce Callahan. Chris Harris Jr. is a fantastic slot cornerback, but he prefers the outside. It’s a bit less taxing with the route combinations a wide receiver can run there. However, Harris is so good inside the team needed to keep him there often. The addition of Callahan would free things up there.
Let’s look at the top free agents for each position group that are obvious areas the Broncos could get better in heading into the 2019 season.
