The Denver Broncos have let both Jeff Heuerman and Matt LaCosse head to free agency despite the dire need for depth at the tight end position. LaCosse was the first to sign of the two as he joined the New England Patriots on Thursday.

LaCosse, 26, was an undrafted free agent in 2015 that had spent time with the New York Giants and New York Jets before signing with the Broncos in 2017. He finished with 24 receptions for 250 yards and a touchdown last year.
Despite that production in a limited role, the Broncos decided not to put a contract tender on him which allowed him to walk in free agency.
